Web Designer

Web designers are responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of a website. Using a combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge of how web pages are created, they collaborate with graphic designers to create online projects.

Skills required:

Junior Graphic Designer

Graphic designers produces visual solutions to meet communication needs using a mix of graphic skills and commercial awareness.  A designer needs to be both creative and practical, with an understanding of production and cost feasibility of designs across mediums. Junior graphic designers assist their more senior counterparts with the more routine aspects of projects.

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production across a variety of mediums, both digital and physical
  • Ability to think out of the box and come up with unusual and clever ideas
  • Ability to see colours correctly and distinguish similar colours and shades
  • Familiarity with software:
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
    • CorelDraw
    • Flash
    • 3D Studio (optional)
    • Premiere (optional)
    • After Effects (optional)
